EA made a few announcements at their EA Play event, which is there pre E3/E3 event & press conference. EA Play gives players a chance to play some EA games early.

In addition, there is a new expansion called In the Name of the Tsar, which adds six new maps, the Russian army, new weapons, new vehicles and better player progression via new assignments and specialization. The In the Name of the Tsar expansion is coming this September.

Madden NFL 18 – Longshot

It seems EA is adding a story mode to all their sports game, last year we saw one come to FIFA 17 and now Madden NFL 18 is getting one, with Longshot.

EA says the new Longshot story mode has been designed like a playable movie, and you’ll take control of Devin Wade on his journey to becoming a pro-NFL player.

Madden NFL 18  will release on August 25th for Xbox One and PS4.

Need For Speed Payback

EA announced the new Need for Speed game a few days ago but they’ve shown off a new trailer some gameplay and the game’s a heist mode. The game also features something called a Relic system which will modernize classic cars for the game.

The game will be releasing on November 10th on Xbox One, PS4 and PC but if you pre-order the Deluxe Edition, players can get to play the game, three days early. And if you’re an EA Access member, you’ll get to play up to 10 hours of the game on November 2nd.

FIFA 18

Last year, with FIFA 17, EA introduced a story mode for the FIFA series with The Journey, and that proved to be successful and it’s coming back with FIFA 18‘s The Journey: Hunter Returns.

The story takes place around Alex Hunter once again, but now he’s an establish football star and is faced with the tough decision of which football club to join.

FIFA 18 will release on September 29th and the Xbox One, PS4 and PC versions of the game will be running on EA’s Frostbit engine and have The Journey: Hunter Returns. The game will also be releasing on the Xbox 360 and PS3 but those versions won’t have the new engine and story mode.

A version of FIFA 18 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch as well and will include FIFA Ultimate Team, Career Mode, Kick Off and Local Seasons. The game will output at 720p when the Switch is in handheld mode and 1080p when docked.

The Switch version of FIFA 18 will playable with one or both Joy-Con controllers or the Switch Pro controller.

A Way Out

A Way Out is being developed by the creators of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. The new game is a co-op adventure and is about two inmate who try to breakout of prison so they can reunite with their families.

The game will be playable in split-screen co-op, either locally or online. A Way Out will release in early 2018 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC and will be part of the EA Originals program, which helps fund indie developers to bring their game ideas to life.

Anthem

Bioware has announced a completely new game called Anthem. Not much was said about the game, other than a small teaser for it and that it is running on the Frostbite engine.

The full game reveal will take place at Microsoft’s E3 2017 press conference (which is tomorrow at 5 pm ET).

SEED

SEED is a new internal incubator at EA, it will “focus on cutting-edge technology.” Some of the things that SEED is looking into are neural networks and virtual humans.

Star Wars Battlefront 2

EA showed off the first gameplay from Star Wars Battlefront 2, which is first revealed at Star Wars Celebration 2017. In addition to the new single player campaign which has you control a female TIE fighter pilot, Finn and Captain Phasma will be playable in the game’s multiplayer mode.

There will also be a multiplayer beta this fall. All the DLC for Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be free and will be themed content called “seasons.” The first piece of post-launch content will release in December and will be based on The Last Jedi.

Some future seasons will include new planets, heroes, vehicles, modes, and weapons. Star Wars Battlefront 2 releases on November 17th on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

NBA Live 18

EA has unveiled NBA Live 18, which features a new mode called The One. The character that you create will play games in the NBA, The League and on the Streets.
