Ubisoft announces Far Cry 5, The Crew 2 and a new Assassin’s Creed

Ubisoft has announced few new games that will be coming by April 2018, those included Far Cry 5, a new Assassin’s Creed game, The Crew 2 and South Park: The Fractured But Whole.

The company made the announcement at their earning call for their 2016-2017 fiscal year. Far Cry 5 was announced via the Far Cry Twitter account, which shows the game’s logo.

Far Cry 5 will the first proper entry in the series since 2014’s Far Cry 4, it’s rumored to be set in the American West.

The next Assassin’s Creed game will be the first one since 2015’s Syndicate, which sales for the game took a dip. Ubisoft decided to give the Assassin’s Creed series a break in 2016, so they could “evolve the game mechanics and to make sure we’re delivering on the promise of Assassin’s Creed offering unique and memorable gameplay experiences that make history everyone’s playground.”

The next game is rumored to be set in ancient Egypt with some boat gameplay, as previously featured on Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

The Crew 2 will be the sequel to Ubisoft’s open-world racing came from 2014, which would allow player to drive and race across select cities in the US. The next game could expand to other countries, in a similar way to the Forza Horizon series.

Back in February, Ubisoft pushed back the release date of South Park: The Fractured But Whole to the 2017-2018 fiscal year, which was the second delay for the game, which was originally scheduled to release in December 2016.

Ubisoft also announced that they’ve pushed back the release of a new AAA IP to the 2018-2019 fiscal year, the game is said to be a multiplayer game with strong live operations, according to Ubisoft’s chief financial officer.

All the games that Ubisoft announced will likely release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Ubisoft also announced that their E3 presentation will take place on June 12th at 1pm PT (4pm ET).
