Microsoft Surface Studio makes its way to Canada on April 20th

Microsoft has announced the release dates for the Windows 10 Creators Update, the next big update for Xbox One and will be bringing the Surface Studio to more markets.

Since being revealed at Microsoft’s NYC event back in October, the Surface Studio has only been available to those in the US. But in the next few weeks, the Surface Studio and Surface Dial will be coming to Canada, Australia and New Zealand on April 20th with pre-orders starting today.

The Surface Studio features the same design aesthetic that’s featured on Microsoft’s Surface Pro and Book lineup. It also has a 28-inch PixelSense touch screen display, which is a unique hinge that can be oriented like a normal all-in-one computer or like a drafting table.

The Surface Studio starts at $3,999 CAD and that will get you a 6th gen Intel Core i5 processor with 8GB of RAM and 1TB hard drive. For $4,599 CAD, you’ll be getting a 6th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive. Then for $5,549 CAD, you’ll be getting a 6th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with 32GB of RAM and a 2TB hard drive.

It will also come with a Surface Pen and you can also get the Surface Dial for new and unique way to interact with your Surface Studio.

Microsoft is also releasing their Surface Book with Performance Base in Austria, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK on April 20th with pre-orders starting today.

Windows 10 Creators Update

Microsoft’s next major update for Windows 10, dubbed the Creators Update, will be coming April 11th and will be a free update. The new update will allow users to create, share and consumer 3D content with the new Paint 3D app.

There will also be improvements to some of Windows 10 built-in apps for music, maps and photos. You’ll also be able to watch, participate, chat and interact in real-time with Beam. In the new update, all you have to do to start broadcasting to Beam is press the Windows key + G.

Xbox One

That wasn’t all that Microsoft announced, they also revealed that the next major update for Xbox One is rolling out now. The new update will allow gamers to stream their gameplay to Beam or interact with other Beam livestreams via the Beam app.

There is also a new intuitive Home and Guide, new multitasking and much more. The March Update for Xbox One is rolling out today.

HTC Vive now $799 in Canada

HTC has announced that they’re dropping the price of their Vive headset by $200, making $799 CAD ($599 USD), down from $1,149 CAD ($799 USD).This is likely in order to better compete with the Oculus Rift which also just recently dropped its price to $549 CAD ($399 USD).Each purchase of a Vive headset comes two base stations and two motion controllers along with a one-month free trial to their Viveport subscription, which allows users play up to five VR titles each month, you also get Google’s Tilt Brush app.“We know price is just one component of a purchase decision, but when you line up all that Vive offers, we’re building a complete VR ecosystem that customers can rely on today and for years to come,” HTC said in a statement.The HTC Vive is available from, Microsoft Store and directly from HTC’s site.Source: HTC
