On July 17th 1955, Disneyland first opened during a special televised press event on the ABC Television Network. Since then it has become where “dreams do come true.”
Walt Disney first had an the idea of Disneyland, when he took his daughters for an outing in Los Angeles. They were visiting, LA’s Griffith Park. He watched them ride on the merry-go-round. Then he thought that there should be a place where adults and their children could go have fun together but Walt’s idea wouldn’t could to together until years later.
Disneyland was first dedicated at an “International Press Preview” event which was held on Sunday July 17th, 1955.
To all who come to this happy place: Welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals…
