Google I/O 2015 Keynote: Everything you need to know

There were a lot of announcements that were made during the Google I/O 2015 keynote. From a preview of the next version of Android to the Internet of Things and a Google Cardboard update.

There is a whole bunch of features that are in Android M. The new update will focus on bug fixes and other behind-the-scenes improvements. This should help Android run more smoothly.
Android M still retains the Material Design of last year’s update but it will just be more stable.
One of the bigger changes is with app permissions. Instead of asking you for a list of permissions when you first install an app, you will now have more control over what an app can and cannot access.
Another new  notable feature in Android M is Google Now on Tap. Essentially it gives you Google Now anywhere and everywhere. You can now access your Google Now cards from which ever app with just a tap and you won’t have to leave the app you are in.

Happy 40th Anniversary, ILM

Forty years ago this month, George Lucas founded Industrial Light & Magic (ILM for short). Lucas founded the company so then he could create the special effects for his “little space opera thing” then known as The Star Wars.ILM started out in a tiny warehouse in Van Nuys, California. Periscope is now available on Android

The popular live-streaming app, Periscope, has finally arrived on Android and you can download it from Google Play, right now.The team behind Periscope was just a small startup and they limited their launch to iOS and the team said that they wanted to create a “experience that feels special” on Android. So that’s why this version has taken a bit longer.The app is available to Android users who are running Android 4.4 (Kit Kat) or later. Happy 35th Birthday, Pac-Man

On May 22nd 1980, is when Namco (who at the time was a Japanese arcade machine manufacturer) first introduced, Pac-Man. The game was mainly designed for who were into games like Space Invaders or Galaxian.Toru Iwatani, the lead creator for the game, want to create a game that was “comical” so that everyone could enjoy it, especially women. Iwatani’s character was essentially just a pizza with a slice missing and his enemies are four ghosts and where you can collect colourful fruit for bonus points.The game, Pac-Man, would go onto to sell 400,000 machines within two years of its release. This would also bring a number of home console ports, updates and spin-offs. A first look at Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs

The  first teaser trailer for Danny Boyle and Aaron Sorkin’s  biographical film, entitled Steve Jobs is here.

After several leaked photos from the set, we finally have a first but short look at the film.  Some people have noticed that Michael Fassbender didn’t do a whole lot to change his appearance to make himself look like the late Steve Jobs, that only thing that he did change was his clothes.

Microsoft Hyperlapse: Everything you need to know

Microsoft has recently announced their new app for Android, called Hyperlapse. The app can capture video from your camera and makes it into a smooth, sped-up time lapse video. Microsoft says that it is more complicated that you think.The app can also convert existing videos, unlike Instagram’s HyperLapse iOS app (which only record time lapse videos).Microsoft’s Hyperlapse app, intelligently chooses which frames so then it it easier to play back the video.There are also versions of Microsoft’s Hyperlapse app available as a Windows desktop application. While the Hyperlapse Mobile app is available for Android and Windows Phone.To be able to use the Hyperlapse app on Android, you’ll need to join the beta test group on Google+ and then opt-in to become a tester. Facebook announces Instant Articles

Facebook has recently announced a new way for users to enjoy articles. It’s called Instant Articles. Say if you were to go to the Facebook app, you’ll see an article of interest to you that one of your Facebook friends shared. When you click one, it may take a couple of seconds to load. Sometimes, it may take longer than normal.With Instant Articles, Facebook is trying to eliminate that loading time of an article.  So then a user can get straight to the article with no time to waste, waiting for an article to load.Instant Articles also provides publishers to make their stories more life-like and interactive. You can zoom-in and take a look at high-resolution photos, just by moving your phone. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Announced

Ubisoft has announced the latest entry in their Assassin’s Creed series called, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.The new game will take place in London, England in 1868, which is during the Industrial Revolution.In terms of the story, it revolve around siblings, Jacob and Evie Frye. They are trying to help the working class take back London from upper class and Templar gangs. You will need the help from other London street gangs in order to complete your quest.Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec instead of Ubisoft Montreal, who are the ones who create the franchise. The studio says that it will be one of the fastest games in the series, in terms of gameplay and overall pacing of the game.There is also a new emphasis on weapons such as hidden blades and brass knuckles. It’s that time of year again, May the Fourth Be With You. A day where fans celebrate the Star Wars movies, going all the way back to the 1977 film,  A New Hope to anticipating the release of  Star Wars: The Force Awakens in December 2015.Here is what the Wikipedia about the popular phrase, “May the Force be with you”:The expression “May the Force be with you” has achieved cult status and is symbolic of the Star Wars legacy. The line has been said by at least one character in each of the Star Wars movies. In A New Hope, there are several mentions of the Force in reference to Luke Skywalker, by Obi-Wan Kenobi (“Use the Force, Luke” and “The Force will be with you, always”) and Darth Vader (“The Force is strong with this one”).The famous line is actually said by General Dodonna after explaining the Death Star attack plan to the Rebel pilots.
