Happy 20th Birthday PlayStation!

Exactly 20 Years ago today, (on December 3rd 1994), Sony released their first entry into the gaming market with the original PlayStation in their home country of Japan.
Fun fact, PlayStation began it’s life as a cd add-on for Nintendo’s SNES console. After years and years of collaboration between Sony and Nintendo, their partnership came to a crashing halt because of a contractual dispute.
The original PlayStation launched in September of 1995 in North America and Europe. The console vanquished all the competing consoles like the SEGA Saturn and later the Nintendo 64. During the lifespan of the console, over 102 million unit were sold, which includes the redesigned slim model, the PSOne).

Happy Birthday to the PlayStation!
